Welcome to Lee Valley Ranch |
Lee Valley Ranch is an incredible place set deep within the Black Hills of South Dakota. It is a place of immense beauty, with luscious green valleys surrounded by forests and mountains and a breathtaking view of the stars. Owned by Pastor Dick and Cynthia Borrud, Lee Valley Ranch is visited by more than 500 people each summer. Whether they come for peer ministry camps; family reunions; retreats; or to simply rest and be revitalized, all that come to Lee Valley are welcomed with enthusiasm, warmth, and generosity.
While the western world spends much of its time focused on individual gains and personal success, Lee Valley Ranch community treasures time spent in fellowship and community building activities, reveling in peace and quiet, taking time for personal solitude, cherishing and respecting nature, and praising God for his awesome creation. It is a place of rest, inspiration, and rejuvenation. |

2007 Summer Theme |
This year, our summer at Lee Valley will revolve around the theme: "HOLD FAST TO WHAT IS GOOD," which is a part of our camp theme verse from Romans 12:9-13. This is a great idea to embrace in a world that loves to focus on the negative. The "glass" of life is always half full and half empty. The Bible and this verse point us towards the "glass half full" view of life. Despite the troubles our world is faced with, there is still so much good we each are blessed with, and we celebrate that GOOD in the unique setting of Lee Valley. It is a place and time for healing the "wounded" of our modern culture and for renewing the spirits of the weary. It is a quiet place tucked away from the hustle and bustle of our busy lives, perfect for reflection and solitude. Lee Valley is also a place of laughter, friendship, hospitality, great food, and good Christian fellowship. Come and join us this summer in the celebration of ALL THAT IS GOOD! |

Three 3-Week Camps |
A unique part of our 38th summer is three 3-week camps. Lyle Griner will train peer leadership leaders in a three week retreat in June. Youth and Family Ministries of MN continues to expand its outreach to improve Parish based youth ministry. For people who want an extended period of learning, reflection, and renewal, Lee Valley offers a three week July experience. We will have Bible Study, health promotion, auto care and mechanics, home improvement skills, garden building, geology, gold and archeology explorations, garnet hunting, walking, biking, hiking, and sight-seeing, etc. Our long term youth leadership training program, the Ranch Hand Semester, will be offered for 3 weeks from the end of July through the first part of August. Write for details of each camp. |

Cross Country Camp |
Coach Mark Greno, from Eastern South Dakota, will invite his high school runners and perhaps offer the camp to other coaches and runners from July 9-13. This camp will certainly provide a great team building experience. The Black Hills offer unique cross country trails, such as the Michelson Trail, Centennial Trail, trails in Custer State Park, as well as a beautiful 3mi. loop trail right at Lee Valley! These hiking/ walking/ running/ biking trails are not only beautiful and scenic, but also offer a great training opportunity for cross country runners because of the high altitude setting. |

"Thanks again for a fun and relaxing week in July. We came home refreshed and refocused. Lee Valley Ranch is truly a blessing in our lives. Thank you!" ---The Bruders
"The lives you have changed and transformed with your ministry of 5-Alive and Lee Valley is immeasurable. Your love and hospitality keeps brining folks back for an experience that is indescribable. Lee Valley is and always will be a piece of God's creation that must be experienced." --- Angela Davis
"We would like to thank you for your hospitality. The beauty of Lee Valley is unchanged. The quiet tranquil world that exists there is impossible to completely describe. Also, to have been greeted by folks from Australia and Germany in the short time we were at camp is a tribute to the outreach Ministry you have participated in and lived. The weekend though short was great and we look forward to a visit next summer." --- Steve and Monica
"I have been on many interviews where the hirer asks me what leadership means to me, and it never fails that my instant response is, 'I think a leader has the ability to see what needs to be done, and the willingness to do it.' It's amazing how much Lee Valley has influenced my everyday life, still years later!" --- Amanda Bryer, Former Ranch Hand |
